My dog Chester was the finest beer drinking, mailman chasing dog loyal companion anyone could have ever hoped for.
… But peace, at least, is certain. Peace and long rest for weary old heart and head and limbs, and eternal sleep in the earth I have loved so well …
… One last word of farewell, Dear Master and Mistress. Whenever you visit my grave, say to yourselves with regret but also with happiness in your hearts at the remembrance of my long happy life with you: “Here lies one who loved us and whom we loved” No matter how deep my sleep I shall hear you, and not all the power of death can keep my spirit from wagging a grateful tail.
Excerpts from
Eugene O’Neill
The Last Will and Testament of An Extremely Distinguished Dog, 1940.

Dog: Rusky Blue (Siberian Husky) – Christiana, TN
(Apr 19, 2001 – Jan 31, 2011)
Rusky Blue was my loving companion, my unconditional love and my best friend. I miss him so much!
My husband gave him as birthday gift when he was just 6 months and was the most precious baby I ever have. He loved to hunt all kind of creatures: birds, rabbits, moles, frogs and even skunks!!

Cat: Jim (Orange Tabby) – Toronto Ontario
Jim had the loudest purr I’ve ever heard. After being blinded in one eye in a cat fight outside about 3 years ago, Jim’s health steadily began to decline.
Eventually he went deaf, got arthritis, suffered the cold-like symptoms of feline herpes, and contracted hyper-thyroid disease, which he had to be medicated for.
On Tuesday, it took only a few hours for him to suddenly and unexpectedly go downhill, letting us know in no uncertain terms that it was his time to go.
My husband and I are devastated by the loss of our beloved Jim but we knew many years ago that his passing would leave a massive hole in our lives. We will always love you Jim, and miss you to bits!
Rest in peace, my beautiful boy

Dog: Lucy Aka Loopy Lu – Beagle (2004 – 12/07/2010)
Our Beagle dog Lucy was a best friend, but more than that a family member.
Sadly, Lucy lost her fight on the 7th December 2010. She got her second chance with us after spending the first year and half in a rescue centre.
She was naughty at times from chewing mobile phones to even eating knickers. Lucy was a character and as hard as old boots. That’s what made her so special to us all.

Dog: Freddie (Lab / Greyhound mix) Warrensburg, MO (2001 – 11/01/2010)
Freddie was my gentle giant, my little buddy as I would always call him, even if he weighed well over 100lbs.
He passed away very suddenly, and is sorely missed by his sister Sandy, brother Fudge, and the rest of the members of our family and friends.

Waiting at the Gate
I explained to St. Peter
I’d rather stay here
Just outside the Pearly Gate.
I won’t be a nuisance,
I won’t even bark,
I’ll be very patient and wait.
