(Apr 22, 1998 – Apr 17, 2016)

Pippy’s journey with her Momma Erika began when she was a kitten and Erika was 7 years old in 1998. Pippy reached through the cage at the Cat Welfare Society, grabbed a hold of Erika’s arm and picked Erika out for herself. It was love at first sight for both of them and they became two peas in a pod.

Pippy’s Poppa Camden came into the picture in 2007. It was love at first sight for them too. The three have been inseparable ever since. Pippy couldn’t have been more loved, more cherished, more spoiled, more adored. She lived to be almost 18 years old and every single second of every single day of her life, she brought so much joy, happiness, and love to those who knew her.

She loved to chat up a storm, loved to lay on laps, loved to climb into bed at night with her Momma and Poppa. Her favorite past time with Camden was playing with the laser. Her favorite pastime with Erika was snuggling up on the couch. She loved to hunt toys at night and especially loved getting treats.

Pippy was also proud to let everyone know she was her Grammy’s favorite. She could always be seen laying in the most comfiest spot, searching for the warmest patch of sunlight, sniffing the fresh air through the windows – her cat TV, and always waiting to greet whomever came through the door. She lived a very long and beautiful life. She was blessed and was a blessing.

In her final days, she became very ill very quickly. Her Momma and Poppa couldn’t bear to see their sweet baby in so much pain, so out of the ultimate act of unconditional love, they decided to take on her pain as their own so she could know infinite peace. She passed away surrounded by those who loved her most, never alone for a second.

She did not know fear in those final moments, only true love. The sorrow of her absence will never go away, but she will always live on in our hearts and we will carry her story with us forever. She saved us in so many more ways than we could ever have saved her.

Until we are reunited again at the rainbow bridge…
