Cat: Downey – Beacon, New York (04/2002 – 02/28/2010)
Downey (American Short Hair Cat) was so loved by everyone. He was a baby even though he was 8 years old.
He followed me, his mom everywhere I went. He was a healthy fat cat. Lazy in his own way.
I called him Downey Bear. His name totally fit him. When ever I would call him he would come running.
Today Feb. 28, I had to put him to sleep. He had a tumor in his stomach as big as a baseball.
It kills me knowing he won’t run to greet me at the door anymore.
I loved him so much …. more than anything.
We grew up together.
He is and will always be my baby.

I didn’t know Downey very well, but he was my niece’s cat and he meant the world to her. It breaks my heart to see her in such pain, but she has a lot of other pets that need her and love her and she must go on for them.
Eventually the pain will become bearable and she’ll be able to remember happily the good times she had with him. Rest in Peace, Downey!

We understand your sadness. We lost our 2 old boys last fall. What a gift Downey was on this earth. Downey isn’t gone, just gone ahead. RIP dear Downey.

Downey was my sisters cat. She loved him very much. After he died she cried for days.
But deep down in my heart, I know he is still with us in some way. I miss him too. RIP Downey bear .
