Dog: Sweetie (Yorkshire Terrier) – U.K. (Died 10/27/2009)

We spotted this darling little old lady – Sweetie a Yorkshire Terrier, at a rescue in June 2008.

Despite the shocking state she was in our hearts were immediately lost to her. We had to have her.

With much love and perseverance we helped her regain her strength and before long, she was once again a bonny little lass and, of course, “daddy’s girl”.

Sadly, sixteen months later, on 27th October 2009, and while in her daddy’s arms, she slipped away and journeyed to the Rainbow Bridge.

Sweetie, you were special and so very precious to us. Losing you has broken our hearts.

We miss you dearly and thank you, sweet angel for the joy you brought into our lives.

Dog: Weegie – Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

I remember the first day I met her. I worked in a shelter at the time. She and about 10 of her brothers and sister, or maybe children were confiscated from a horrible place. They all had matted fur, were underweight and most had behavior problems.

Soon came before everyone fell in love with one and took into foster. All the fosters were going to adopt after the shelter won the court case with the horrible lady. The patient Weegie awaited her foster, who seemed would never come.

Weegie got sick soon and had to be put into isolation. I went in day after day to care for her. I soon took her into foster. She came to life soon after fostering her. I then adopted her.

She was 14 years old when she sadly was attacked by a dog. We rushed her to the emergency room, while I did CPR on her the whole way. She passed away in my arms on the way there but I did not give up on her.

The emergency room couldn’t do anything. As I took her home to rest.

Weegie, You will never be forgotten. I know you are very happy and do not want me to mourn. I think of you daily.

“My good Weegie pup always in my heart”
